Assembly Line Diagnostic Link or ALDL is a proprietary on-board diagnostics system developed by General Motors prior to the standardization of OBD-2. I've connected my 95 with that set-up.įrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. I run Datamaster on an Acer running XP and I use the FTDI adapter. You have to use either one made by Belkin or another made by FTDI the 'US232B'. There is some very good software called 'Datamaster' which is published by TTS which supports most of the pre-96 systems on Corvette, however, it requires a USB-to-serial port adapter and not just any adapter can be used. I'm unaware of any software which runs on a PC, supports pre-96 ECMs and connects to the DLC (ALDL) via USB.
